OGDEN — Police have arrested a man accused of sexually abusing a child over the past five years.
Misael Douglas Gonzalez-Lopez, 38, was booked in jail early Sunday morning on 15 counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
On Sunday, police were notified of a sex offense that happened in Washington Terrace, where a mother believed her 15-year-old girl was being abused by Gonzalez, according to a probable cause statement.
The mother set up a recording device and taped “suspicious audio” of Gonzalez entering the girl’s room and “engaging in sexual activity,” the affidavit says.
Police interviewed the victim at Weber-Morgan Children’s Justice Center. She didn’t say whether sexual activity occurred, but said that Gonzalez “hugged and cuddled her” in her room before he went to work in the mornings, the statement says.
When police searched the girl’s room, they found “multiple fluorescing stains” on her bed.
Gonzalez was later read his rights, and he told police that roughly twice a month for the past five years he “bounced his pelvis on the victim’s pelvis” while they were both clothed. He would do this until he ejaculated, the statement says.
Gonzalez had not been formally charged in court as of Monday afternoon, according to online court records. A court date has not been set for him in Ogden’s 2nd District Court.
He is being held at Weber County Jail in lieu of a $150,000 bail. He is also ordered by the court not to contact the victim.
